Homeowners told to shop around for cheaper insurance
People who have just purchased houses for sale in Britain have been
advised that they need to shop around to find the best cover.
According to Virgin Money, the advantages of comparing better deals
should not be underestimated.
It conducted research which shows that 45 per cent of policyholders
do not look for alternative premiums, despite the savings of home
contents and building insurance potentially reaching more than
£103 million every year.
Kieran Hartigan, managing director of Protection at Virgin Money,
gave advice to homeowners searching for cover renewal quotes.
He recognised that some people can find it "a bit of a chore" but
noted that it could lead to big savings.
Post Office Home Insurance recently reminded people looking for
properties for sale in the UK of the importance of taking out
cover, saying they can enjoy the "festive season with peace of
mind" if they know their valuables are protected over
Christmas.
